Come and support Yolk author Kae Bahar as he gives a talk about Letters from a Kurd. His award-winning short movie 'I am Sami' will also be shown. Many thanks to the QMUL Kurdish Society for their support.

Come and browse through books for adults and children, written by local authors. There will be free tea or coffee for you. Yolk authors Barbara Stevenson and Gail McPartland will be there!

8th, 13th, 20th October 2016 - BLOOD AND ROSES, IN CONVERSATION

 

Glasgow-based author Catherine Hokin will be taking her historical novel 'Blood and Roses' to three prestigious Scottish venues, and here are some dates for you if you'd like to join her for a talk about Margaret of Anjou, the Wars of the Roses and dangerous women.

On 8th October she'll be at the Portobello Book Festival from 1pm to 2pm. 

On 13th October, at The Edinburgh Bookshop from 7pm to 8.30pm.

Finally, on 20th October you can join Catherine at Waterstones, Byers Road in Glasgow from 7.30pm to 9pm.

All events are FREE, please contact the venues to be added to the guest list.

 

9th October 2016 - STANLEY SALMONS AT THE CHESTER LITERATURE FESTIVAL

 

Stanley Salmons will be a speaker at 'New Voices', introducing his book 'Footprints in the Ash', an investigative thriller with Mount Vesuvius rumbling ominously in the background.

On 9th October he'll be at Chester Town Hall, his slot is between 5pm and 7.30pm.

3 September 2016 - NEW BOOK LAUNCH

 

'Into the Sun' by Joy Kenward was launched with a private party at The Old Colonial pub in Weston Super Mare. Yolk was there, it was a packed event and a lot of Joy's books were sold. As the book is about a WW2 love story between a young girl and an RAF pilot it was good to see a couple of veterans there, and some relatives of RAF pilots, including Joy herself.

 

7 July 2016 - An introduction to Jim Dales and Kae Bahar

 

Our two authors will present their debut novels, 'RHL - The Man in the MIrror', and 'Letters from a Kurd', to the audience.

18 June 2016 - NEW BOOK LAUNCH, meet the author

 

Jim Dales will be going back to the Hunting Raven bookshop this Saturday from 11am to 12pm for a book signing session open to the public. So, if you are in Frome or in the surrounding area, feel free to come along and support our newly published author. 'RHL, The Man in the MIrror' is available for sale at £7.99.

 

16 June 2016 - A 'Blood and Roses' event with Catherine Hokin

 

Keswick-born Catherine read, discussed and took questions about her absorbing, pacy and richly observed historical novel 'Blood and Roses'.

The event was held at Mrs F's Fine Food Emporium, Keswick.

15 June 2016 - NEW BOOK LAUNCH

 

'RHL - The Man in the Mirror' by Jim Dales was launched with a private party at the Hunting Raven bookshop in Frome. Yolk was there, it was a 'standing room only' event and a lovely time was had by all. A small group went on to the local Fish & chips restaurant afterwards to celebrate Jim's debut as a published author. Special thanks to Caroline and Karen, their help has been invaluable.

Barbara Stevenson hosted a reading and book signing event in Kirkwall (Orkney) for her new book 'The Organist'.

The event was held in the St. Magnus Centre, Kirkwall.

Kae Bahar introduced 'Letters from a Kurd' and his award-winning short film 'I am Sami' to an Oxford audience. It was a successful, 'standing room only' event.

The Friction Talks event was presented by James Attlee in association with Film Oxford, and was held at their premises: 54 Catherine St, Oxford, OX4 3AH.

Kae Bahar discussed 'Letters from a Kurd' and his award-winning short film 'I am Sami' with an audience of Eton College students, at the Lower Boy History Society in the Upper School.. The event was followed by a stimulating Q&A session which both author and students enjoyed.
